Yes. If testing for travel, please be sure to check testing requirements at your destination prior to testing (eg. specimen type).

How long does it take to get tested?
Collection itself includes a quick 30 second swish and gargle. Collection takes place within a 15-minute appointment window.
How is the test sample collected?

Is fasting required for this test?
No, however please do NOT eat, drink, chew gum/mints or use tobacco products for at least 30 minutes prior to testing.
Who performs the test?
A trained staff member will collect your specimen at the time of your appointment. OralDNA® Labs will process your specimen for OraRisk® COVID-19 RT-PCR and/or immun19™ testing. OralDNA® Labs is a CLIA-certified and CAP accredited high complexity laboratory created by a team of dedicated healthcare and laboratory professionals, located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
Is the OraRisk® COVID-19 RT -PCR test FDA approved?
No. The OraRisk® COVID-19 RT-PCR test has been given Emergency Use Authorization through the FDA, which is the highest level of clearance the FDA can grant during the public health emergency.
*This test is only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of emergency use of in vitro diagnostics for detection and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 under Section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner.

How long will it take to receive results?
Once the laboratory receives your specimen, results will be available within 24 hours or less.
How will I receive my result report?
Result reports are downloaded through our secure result portal; accessed via a unique link sent to your mobile device. If you do not have access to a mobile device – communication will be sent via email.
What does a not detected or detected OraRisk® COVID-19 RT-PCR results mean?
If your result shows detected, know what protective steps to take to prevent others from getting sick.
If your result shows not detected, you probably were not infected at the time your sample was collected. The test result only means that you did not have COVID-19 at the time of testing. Continue to take steps to protect yourself.
How accurate is the OraRisk® COVID-19 RT-PCR test?
The OraRisk® COVID-19 RT-PCR test is greater than 99% sensitive and 100% specific to the SARS CoV-2 virus.
How accurate is the immun19™ antibody test?
The clinical sensitivity is 100% and the clinical specificity is 100%. At this time there is no knowledge regarding analytical specificity and sensitivity due to not having pre- Covid-19 samples to compare to.
Who do I call if I have questions about the test or my results?
Please contact your primary care provider with any clinical questions about your test results. Tell him or her that you had a COVID-19 test and the result was positive. Your primary care provider will give you instructions on what to do next and if you need to be seen. The COVID-19 test is not a substitute for medical advice. The results of the test should not stop you from seeking medical attention should you feel you need it. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 and notify the operator that you have or think you have COVID-19.
