Can you briefly describe your experience and background as a dental hygienist?
\n<\/strong>I have been a hygienist\u00a0for almost 40 years and\u00a0have been working\u00a0with a phase contrast microscope for the last 25 years. Using the microscope has helped me view the mouth\u2019s connection to whole health.<\/p>\n

What motivated you to become a dental hygienist?
\n<\/strong>I love smiles and want to help people have the healthiest mouth possible. Now, it\u2019s a healthy mouth and body!<\/p>\n

How do you stay updated on the latest dental hygiene trends, technologies, and best practices?
\n<\/strong>I attend conferences annually and keep\u00a0up with current\u00a0publications.\u00a0I also keep up to date with the required continuing education requirements for my dental hygiene license.<\/p>\n

Can you explain your approach to patient education and preventive care?
\n<\/strong>It\u2019s\u00a0whole-body health,\u00a0and the mouth is where I start.<\/p>\n

How do you utilize OralDNA\u00ae tests in your patient care routine?
\n<\/strong>We have implemented OralDNA\u00ae\u00a0for all\u00a0our implant patients and I have\u00a0been recommending MyPerioPath\u00ae testing on all periodontal\u00a0patients and patients with systemic health issues. I educate patients about the role of heredity and genetics in periodontal and systemic disease.<\/p>\n

What prompted you to begin using OralDNA? How long have you been testing with us?
\n<\/strong>We\u00a0have had OralDNA\u00a0in the practice for several years;\u00a0however, I was inspired to start using OralDNA testing in more instances after coming back from the RDH Under One Roof conference in Nashville this past summer.<\/p>\n

Is there anything additional you would like to share?
\n<\/strong>Understanding the mouth as vital to whole health has led me to also becoming an integrative nutrition health coach. I\u2019m now able to treat dental clients from a nutritional perspective.<\/p>\n
