That journey ultimately led to the Women’s Midlife Health Summit, but the conversation goes far beyond menopause. While hormonal changes are an important part of midlife, they are only one piece of the larger health picture. The Summit brings together experts across women’s health, metabolic health, sleep, inflammation, immune function, oral health, bone health, brain health, and more to help women understand how these areas can intersect and influence how they feel, function, and age.

The increased attention being given to perimenopause and menopause is long overdue. Hormonal changes during these years can influence sleep, mood, metabolism, body composition, sexual health, cognition, cardiovascular health, bone health, and energy.

Erika, however, wanted the Summit to address a much larger health picture. While hormones are an important part of midlife, they should not become a catch-all explanation for every symptom a woman experiences after 40.

Thyroid function, insulin resistance, cardiovascular risk, inflammation, immune health, gut health, environmental exposures, chronic infections, bone density, muscle mass, sleep, stress, and brain health can all influence how a woman feels during these years. Looking at these factors alongside hormonal changes can provide a much more complete understanding of health in midlife.

Oral health is an important part of that larger conversation. The mouth is part of the body, yet dental and medical health are still frequently treated as separate areas of care. Research continues to examine the relationships between the oral microbiome, periodontal health, inflammation, microbial balance, and systemic health, making oral health another important area to consider as women think about their overall health and aging.

Dr. Sanda Moldovan will join the Summit for a dedicated conversation about oral health and the oral microbiome, helping women better understand why what is happening in the mouth can matter far beyond their teeth and gums.

Three Days Built Around the Questions Women Are Asking

The Women’s Midlife Health Summit has been organized around three central questions, allowing the conversation to progress from understanding the changes women are experiencing to looking more closely at what may be contributing to them and what women can do to support their health in the years ahead.

Day One: Why Do I Feel Different? focuses on many of the changes women begin noticing in midlife, including perimenopause, hormones, metabolism, weight, brain fog, mood, energy, cortisol, sleep, sexual health, and pelvic health. The conversations will help women better understand the hormonal transition while also recognizing that not every symptom should automatically be attributed to menopause.

Day Two: What Is Actually Going On? looks more closely at the factors that can influence how women feel and age, including inflammation, immune function, thyroid and gut health, cardiovascular health, environmental exposures, mold, heavy metals, chronic infections, and oral health. These conversations address areas that can easily be overlooked when healthcare is approached one symptom or specialty at a time.

Day Three: How Do I Thrive? turns the focus toward the years ahead, with conversations about strength, bone health, longevity, nutrition, advanced testing and biomarkers, hair and skin aging, aesthetics, regenerative medicine, relationships, and strategies for maintaining health and quality of life throughout the next several decades.

Bringing More Than 40 Experts into One Conversation

Erika serves as host and co-founder of True Health Summits, with Dr. Eboni Cornish joining the Women’s Midlife Health Summit as co-host.

The growing lineup brings together more than 40 experts, including Dr. Felice Gersh, Dr. Louise Newson, JJ Virgin, Kayla Barnes, Cynthia Thurlow, McCall McPherson, Dr. Jennifer Berman, Dr. Anna Cabeca, Dr. Carrie Jones, Dr. Wendy Troxel, Dr. Mary Pardee, Dr. Jaban Moore, Prof. Belinda Beck, Dr. Sanda Moldovan, Natalie Jill, and many additional leaders across women’s health and healthy aging.

The range of specialties represented is an important part of the event because women do not experience their health as a collection of isolated systems, even though healthcare is often organized that way. Hormonal health intersects with metabolic and cardiovascular health, sleep can influence nearly every aspect of physical and mental health, oral health can provide another window into what is happening in the body, and maintaining muscle and bone becomes increasingly important as women age.

Bringing these areas together allows women to hear different perspectives and begin connecting pieces of their health that may previously have been discussed separately.

A Different Approach to Virtual Health Education

The Summit has also been designed to feel very different from the traditional virtual health conference.

The sessions are professionally filmed in a dedicated Los Angeles studio using a conversational interview format rather than PowerPoint presentations or a series of webcam interviews. The goal is to create the quality and experience of a professionally produced health series while keeping the education accessible to women anywhere in the world.

Erika is able to ask the questions women are actually asking and give experts the time to explain complicated subjects in a way that is easier to understand and apply. When medical perspectives differ, those differences can become part of the conversation rather than being reduced to a single answer.

This is the same production model that helped the Lipedema Summit reach more than 13,000 registrants earlier this year. The Women’s Midlife Health Summit takes what was learned from that event and applies it to a much broader conversation about women’s health and aging.

Making the Education Accessible

The Women’s Midlife Health Summit is completely free to watch during the live virtual event November 10–12. Optional All Access and VIP passes will be available for attendees who want continued access and additional benefits, while registration and all three days of live educational programming remain free.

Women are currently being presented with an enormous amount of information about hormones, supplements, testing, longevity, treatments, and healthy aging. Having more information does not necessarily make healthcare decisions easier, particularly when recommendations conflict or different areas of health are discussed without considering how they may connect.

The Women’s Midlife Health Summit was created to bring those conversations together and give women access to experts who can help them better understand their bodies, recognize areas of health that may deserve more attention, and have more informed conversations with their own healthcare providers.

Midlife is more than menopause. It is an opportunity to take a closer look at the whole health picture and understand how the choices women make today can influence how they feel for decades to come.

Women’s Midlife Health Summit
November 10–12, 2026 Fi

Register free at midlife-summit.com

In our previous post, we explored Erika Schlick’s journey from navigating her own complex health challenges to creating health education platforms that help women better understand and advocate for their health.
