Fast forward 10 years later, we are still focused on that original target and the paths have wonderfully broadened to not just dentistry, but all allied health fields – chiropractic, integrated medicine, naturopathic medicine, functional medicine, osteopathic medicine, advanced practice nursing, life science coaching, and so many more!

The idea of the mouth connecting to all things systemically in the body is being read about and listened to daily – it is even being shown on mainstream news outlets! It is exciting to see this change of focus and people starting to take more responsibility for their own health outside of traditional medicine and dentistry practices. Dentists have begun taking on the mindset of “dental physicians” in diagnosis and treatments, and hygienists are becoming more specialized preventive treatment providers, arming patients with valuable information on advanced oral care including nutrition, supplements, oral testing, botanicals, Myofunctional therapy (OMT) and now even viruses. Diagnostics testing, such as the test menu OralDNA® Labs provides, is an integral player to this complete health approach.

In recent years, the AAOSH annual sessions have begun to attract students and faculty from medical, dental, and dental hygiene schools – which is no less than amazing! The dream of changing curriculums and mindsets was daunting at the onset, but now we can clearly begin to see the swing headed in that direction.

No longer is treating disease the foremost focus, it is preventing disease in the first place. We can assist patients to achieve healthier lives. We hope you will become part of the new “attitude” and join us in spreading the word about oral-systemic health at the AAOSH 2020 virtual annual session, August 28-29, 2020. We have an incredible lineup of speakers who will be unveiling some of the latest in research and cures, sponsor booths, chatrooms, breakouts, and panels with live Q&A. Register now and learn more at AAOSH.org, to begin, or continue, your journey to health!

For more information on how to become an OralDNA Provider – scan HERE:

No longer is treating disease the foremost focus, it is preventing disease in the first place.
