interdisciplinary collaboration. With a career spanning decades, Dr. Farber combines advanced
clinical expertise with a deep commitment to education, mentorship, and whole-body health.
Dr. Farber earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health
Science Center at San Antonio in 1984. He completed his advanced specialty training in
Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1987, where he also
served as Class President. His dedication to lifelong learning is reflected in more than 2,500
hours of continuing education and his New York State Certificate recognizing this achievement.
He is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, a Certified Laser Instructor through the Institute
of Advanced Laser Dentistry (IALD), and an ITI Fellow as of May 2024.
A visionary connector of specialists, Dr. Farber has long believed that dentistry is at its best
when clinicians learn from one another. In 2002, he founded an online peri-implant message
board that grew to more than 400 specialists and over 28,000 clinical discussions. This
groundbreaking collaboration ultimately led to the creation of the International Association of
Dental Specialists (iADS), where Dr. Farber now serves as Founder and President. Today, iADS
provides members with access to a robust, modern Specialists’ Forum designed to foster
interdisciplinary dialogue, elevate patient care, and support professional growth worldwide.
Dr. Farber’s leadership extends across numerous professional organizations. He has served as
President of the Suffolk County Dental Society, the Northern Brookhaven Dental Group, and the
Northeastern Society of Periodontists. He is a past Director of the Long Island Dental Forum,
currently serves as Director of the Spear Study Club of Long Island, and has founded multiple
study clubs and forums dedicated to clinical excellence and collaboration. He has also
contributed academically as a Guest Lecturer in Periodontics at Stony Brook University School
of Dental Medicine.
Outside of clinical practice and leadership, Dr. Farber is an avid photographer, wine enthusiast,
cyclist, and pickleball player. He is passionate about mentoring young dentists and continually
expanding his knowledge of holistic and whole-body health. He has been married for over 30
years and is the proud father of three sons, along with two beloved dogs, Betty and Veronica.
Dr. Farber’s career reflects a rare blend of clinical excellence, educational leadership, and a
genuine commitment to bringing dentists together—advancing not only the profession, but the
people within it.
